Charles was original educated as ICT professional although always had a passion for photography. In 1999 he changed his life from behind the computer into a life behind the professional camera. A realization of the saying changes a hobby into work. “A big step but one I never regretted”.
Besides being a photographer he works as a (technical) editor for the magazine FOTOgrafie.
Traveling always has been a passion and so over the years he visited many great places. A few examples are, all Scandinavian countries including Iceland and Greenland. Australia, UK, USA and Canada whereto he shipped his Toyota Landcruiser from Netherlands.
He visited booming China for the first time in 2005. Since then he travelled many more times to this fascinating country. In 2011 he lived in the countryside of Yangshuo in the very south of China.
In 2013 he finished his book "TREES WATER SAND". This book is about fine art photography in the Badain Jaran Desert, a huge desert region in the Chinese province Inner Mongolia.
Charles says, “In my workshops and tours I focus on the art of observing. No matter if it is people, street life or landscapes that is in your viewfinder, watch carefully before pressing that button.”
